Can I still wear my contact lenses? Should I still wear them?
Many people are concerned about contact lens wear during these uncertain times. Your contact lenses are safe to wear assuming you follow the standard cleaning and disinfecting procedures as per usual. However, if you are able to wear glasses you may consider this temporary alternative.
Can I get Coronavirus in my eye?
No. Health officials believe 1%-3% of those who have contracted Coronavirus may develop viral Pink Eye, or Conjunctivitis as a potential symptom. Those are low numbers. This means if you or someone you care for wakes up with that ever so lovely crusty, pink and sore eye, don’t panic. Having Pink Eye does not mean having Coronavirus.
Can I use eye drops?
Yes. You want to practice safe and proper hygiene like you always do:
a.. Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
b.. Make sure the dropper is clean. You can clean the top with rubbing alcohol if needed
c.. DO NOT touch dropper to your eyelids or face
Glasses Care
We would like to remind everyone who wears glasses to clean them on a regular basis. You can do so by rinsing them under room temperature water, using mild soap (DO NOT USE anything with harsh chemicals) and dry with a glasses cleaning cloth. Remember to clean nosepads and ear pieces.
